Wisdom

I'm going to ask you a question, Do you want to be wise? Now i can bet that all of you said yes. And i too agree with you, i want to be wise. But it seems that by looking at myself i am not trying to attain wisdom the right way. I am trying to attain it by doing what is right, or saying what i think is best, doing what i see as the wisest choice.

Now in Proverbs it says that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD. For a while, i never fully understood what that meant though. I thought it meant fear God his power and what he could do to me... and that is part of it but there is still more.

Fear of Man is just about the opposite of Fear of God. When we fear man we in a part fear what they can do to us. But we also fear what they think of us, in struggling with fear of man we try to do and say what we think others want us to. It can sometimes be known as peer pressure. Now if we flip that, Fear of God is doing or say what we know is pleasing to God and how he instructs us. It is us fearing what God thinks of us not man.

Now why would we fear man? If you are with your [person] hero and a bunch of other people would you care what the other people think? No you wouldn't, you would care and be worried what you hero think. This should be the same with God, we should only worry about what he thinks.

Now that we understand the Fear of the LORD we now have a clear understanding of how that is the beginning of wisdom. That is where i fell, i didnt understand the Fear of the LORD so my view of wisdom and how to attain it was shallow.

I personally have learned that when i tried to attain wisdom the wrong way it ends badly. And if what i did was correct but not the method of doing what was right, it would most always lead to pride.

Now when i say seek or attain i mean by seeking God and attaining what he is showing and revealing to me as wise to do in the time that i need it. By attaining wisdom from God we are showing humility(i will talk about this soon). We should also be very grateful for what he has and does show us! But we should always seek and long for more.

I pray that we would attain wisdom and do the right thing from the Fear of the LORD and that we would stray far away from fear of man.
