As I listened to the news today I heard headlines about: Freak accidents, murders, homicides, storms, tornadoes, car accidents... the list goes on and on. So many deaths of people that shouldn't be dying at the age they are currently at. So many horrible things happening.
Mr. Ferryman said that when he was involved in the insurance business they would rather insure someone at age 70 than someone at age 15. He said because of drugs, alcohol, car accidents and stuff like that. They would give someone who was 70 a better chance to live 10 years than someone who was 15!
Our lives could end any day. We could be in some freak car accident and boom, we're dead. Or God could come back like a thief in the night... today? tomorrow? next week? we'll never know.
Now this is something I don't think most of us think about often, personally I rarely think of it ever! As I look back on my day, I often see choices made for tomorrow. I trust in the unknown and make decisions in a day that might not come. I say to my self, "Oh I can do what my moms wants me too tomorrow." or, "I can read my bible tomorrow." but what if there is no tomorrow? What would we say then?
This is an area where I see myself fall day after day. Some days more than others but all in there own way.
I pray that God would help us all in there own way to stop trusting in the uncertain, and give us grace to see that our lives are like a mist that could go away any second. We need to essentially live in the moment. To live as if the world could end later that day. Trust me, when you think like that when making a decision it make a difference! And it pleases God... :)
Any and all thoughts on what you have read are welcome!! Anything at all is really appreciated! Thank you for reading!
